Blocking phone numbers

Hello all,

This isn't really a post about archives, more a moan about mobile companies and not being able to block specific numbers. Over the past year (on and off) I have suffered from abusive and unwanted calls, messages and voicemail. I have asked my mobile company time and time again whether or not they are able to block this specific number... All to no avail... my only option is to change my number. Thus causing mass upheaval for me and irritation for my friends. I am willing to do this but I want to know why mobile phone companies are so unwilling to do (what I would think is well within their capabilities) .. the answer I get from customer services is that they do not know. Ever so helpful as always, I have written an e-mail to the company asking why they provide a service which causes more upheaval and stress to the victim than the perpetrator. I would like to know if any of your mobile companies offer blocking calls rather than changing numbers.

Anyway rant over and feeling much better :)

  2. Thanks again. Getting there slowly. I am not usually a ranter on my own blog but it was something I feel very strongly about, especially as it keeps happening. I suppose it was the last straw. Luckily my phone operator wrote me a lovely reply and I can see a way to go forward with it as ignoring the person doesn't seem to work all that well.

They say they have not the power to block calls however if I had a Sony Ericsson mobile phone I could block it, that's something I didn't know. I have to send them an awful lot of details about phone usage etc and they gave me the Nuisance Calls Bureau which can investigate the matter, so onwards and upwards as my Mama always says. It seems that sometimes a little bit of complaining/writing letters does actually get you somewhere.
